, initially, police told us they were looking for kim tolefree as well as a 1-year- old child, a girl. her name was -- her name is isaza tolefree. she was described as last wearing a pink shirt with blue bears holding anage and yellow blanket and kim tolefree was last seen wearing a plaid and beige coat, acid washed jeans. we're told the suspect was armed and dangerous. the twist -- and we just got done talking with oakland police and her daughters as well, we're told this may not be a child at all. it may be a case of domestic violence involving drugs. here's what one neighbor said. we don't that have sound right now. we're trying to sort out out the details. a cording -- sort the details. this 1-year-old girl, according had kim tolefree's daughters, the child does not exist. it may have been a matter of a domestic violence case with drugs. pline floor -- brian flores, ktvu channel 2 news. >>> we're following developing news out of turkey. a suicide bomber set off explosives killing himself and an embassy security guard. coming up at 7:15, what we are hearing about the group responsible

proposals. will he be able to overcome deep-rooted opposition? joining us for our daily fix, chuck todd, msnbc news chief, political director, and host of "the daily rundown" and "new york times" chief washington correspondent david sang ar. first to you, chuck, on guns. the president in minnesota. the white house making a very big push. the question as to why they had to react to the conspiracy they'rists who questioned his -- the white house comment about his skeet shooting at camp david zoosh well, they've always been what i would call overly reactive to they call it the beast, feeding the beast, and they mean sort of social media, the sort of advocacy media, when it's talk radio, whatever you want to call it, and this was just mother one of those instances where they felt that they saw a couple of articles that they thought were getting traction, and they thought, well, let's put out this photo, but, of course, even as david axlerod, they put it out four or five days later, and then it was, well, then why are you doing that? if you think it's slil to be doing it, why feed the beast?

in idaho but nationwide. the u.s. department of justice reported that the number of women killed by an intimate partner decreased by 35%. in 2012 it was reported that in one day alone 688 women and their children impacted by violence sought safety in an emergency shelter or received counseling, legal advocacy or children's support. while we may not agree on all the specifics of this reauthorization -- and there are portions of it that we will continue to negotiate on and to refine -- we do all agree on one very important idea, and that is that violence should not happen to anyone. and this critical legislation is very effective in helping to address that abuse in our society. as i said, there are parts of this legislation under which there still are concerns, and i am committed, as senator leahy is, to working with those who have concerns to make the bill better and more workable so that we can move it through to become law in this session of congress. but after we debate and after we work and define the legislation, i urge my colleagues to join me in supporting the authorization

on the response to the milestone week to the dow, let's go to kristen welker at the white house for us. good saturday morning to you. what is the take on the latest economic news, after the rocky start with the negative gdp number? >> good morning, alex. a real mixed bag this week. the white house responding as they typically do, when we get one of these jobs reports or gdp reports, saying, look, these are signs that the economy is recovering, but that there is still a lot of work left to be done. particularly on the jobs report, to take that part, alex. the white house pointing that the jobs numbers were revised last year and at the ends the e month to show higher hiring. the fact nah manufacturing, construction, had a strong showing in the jobs report, but, of course, the negative side of that, the unemployment rate did tick up to 7.9%. that is indication there is more work to be done on the economy. republicans pointing to that number and the gdp report which showed the economy basically shrunk to say that the obama economy is not working. you look at the gdp number, what is interesting,

of us sinking into the supper 20s to low 30s. we'll talk about the slight warmup expected for the afternoon coming up. >>> we are following developing news out of san francisco. police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened just a few hours ago. they tell us a man was shot in the city's western edition. alex savidge is live there now. what can you tell us so far? >> reporter: we are getting very limited information from police this morning. that is because it's so early on in this investigation. a sergeant that was out here confirmed a man was shot and killed. he was found right over near this corner. near the intersection of hayes and webster. an anonymous caller reported gunfire in this area around 2:00 this morning. we'll show you that video. officers were out here for most of the morning. police tell us the victim was rushed to the hospital after suffering at least one gunshot wound. he died there from his injuries. homicide investigators searching for the shooter involved here. a sergeant told me they don't have a description on the person to put out. in ju

that we have. our radar is not looking too bad for us. we have light sprinkles on the lower edge of this. did not present any snow issues for us. you see that massive moisture just still moving up into canada. it's taking its time gets out of there. the longer it stays there with temperatures in the 20s in new england it's going to dump snow. for us, we had a wienld advisory in place until 6 a.m. it has not been lifted. the winds are sustained around 20 miles per hour at times and they're going to be that way for a little while. the advisory stays in place until that starts to calm down. temperatures in the 20s. clear skies. temperatures in the mid 30s and with the winds coming down, we'll have less of a wind chill. we'll talk more about wind coming up in just a few moments. >> okay. of course, forecasters were expecting a big blast of snow from that storm system. so far that's exactly what people are seeing. travel has become virtually impossible. >> the snow blew in sideways, piling up in drifts and burying cars on the road. >> there's nothing you can do. you can't push it you can't d
